Michael DeShazo is a partner at DeShazo Adams. His practice includes a wide range of litigation and transactional matters, including commercial and corporate litigation, employment law, education law, and insurance defense. Michael has particular experience in advising clients on public-private partnerships, cooperative endeavor agreements, and other specialized contracts between public entities and private enterprises. He routinely advises governmental clients on compliance with the Louisiana Public Records Act, the Louisiana Open Meetings Law, and the Louisiana Public Works Act. Michael also has extensive experience in the representation of religious organizations, and has frequently been called upon to defend the First Amendment rights of such entities in state and federal court.
In addition to his litigation practice, Michael also serves as a mediator in employment, education, and governmental matters. He is also a frequent lecturer, and has given numerous presentations to the 22nd Judicial District Bar Association, the New Orleans Bar Association, and many others.
